The Ultimate Harry Potter Gift List

posted in: Books | 0

As an obsessive Harry Potter fan, I’m always hoping to get Harry Potter related gifts for Christmas and birthdays. Unfortunately, my parents aren’t the most knowledgeable when it comes to Harry Potter, and never know what to buy for gifts. So I wanted to create this list with ideas and places to shop to help parents like mine, who want to surprise their kids with Harry Potter gifts, but just don’t know what to get!

The Illustrated books

These books are probably my favorite Harry Potter gift so far. They are fully illustrated editions of the Harry Potter books! At the time of writing this article, the first 3 books are available. The 4th is set to come out sometime in 2019. The illustrations are so amazing, and really give a whole new experience to reading the books. They’re also especially perfect for introducing new young fans to the series!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Illustrated edition)

Over the years, multiple ‘text books’ from the Harry Potter world have come out, one of them being “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. However, the first version that came out wasn’t illustrated. And in my opinion, if you’re going to have a book all about mythical creatures, you need to see what they look like! Hence my excitement when I saw that an illustrated edition had come out. It’s the perfect gift for Harry Potter fans!

More Harry Potter related books

There are more ‘text books’ from Hogwarts, including “Quidditch Through the Ages” and “The Tales of Beedle The Bard”. There’s also other Harry Potter related books, including the “Fantastic Beasts Screenplay” (the screenplay for Crimes of Grindelwald is also out now!), “The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook,” and “Harry Potter: Hogwarts: A Movie Scrapbook”. Obviously there are dozens of other harry potter related books out there, but these are some of my personal favorites!

You can get this gift easily on Amazon and it’s the perfect last minute gift/stocking stuffer if you’re a late shopper!

Target’s Harry Potter Collection

Target has a pretty large Harry Potter focused collection, that has gifts perfect for kids and adults. There are clothes, mugs, bed sheets, a storage trunk, a Triwizard cup lamp, and so, so much more! This year, the slippers are on my wish list!

Bed Bath and Beyond Harry Potter Collection

If you have a child that dreams of decorating a room in a Harry Potter theme, the Bed Bath and Beyond Harry Potter collection is your go to place. They have everything you could need or want to decorate a bedroom, including comforters, sheets, throw blankets, pillows, lamps, stuffed animals, canvas wall art, and more!

Pottery Barn Harry Potter Collection

What makes Pottery Barn’s collection unique is that they have items for all different ages: Pottery Barn Kids, PB Teens, and Williams Sonoma. The kids line is great for both young children and adult Harry Potter fans who are expecting a child or have a young child. There both crib/bedroom sets and you can shop for items by room theme.
The PBTeen line is probably my favorite section, because it has bedroom items meant for teenagers (and up!), so all sheets/comforters come in Queen and King sizes (the other stores really only have Twin sizes). They also have some great throw pillows, and awesome velvet robes in each house color. They’ve also added Christmas themed items, including stockings and a snitch pendant, which I think would make GREAT Christmas gifts!
And lastly, they have the Williams Sonoma section, which has awesome kitchen items, including aprons, spatulas, and cookies cutters.

Bradford Exchange Harry Potter Collection

Fair warning the items in this collection are on the expensive side, but they do have some great gifts. My favorite is the Harry Potter illuminated Village collection ($59.99 per issue. There are 4 issues). Some of the other items they have that I think are pretty cool is a Snow Globe with a moving train around it ($99), a table lamp with an illuminated Hogwarts castle ($199), and a Hogwarts Battle Board game ($49.98).

I hope this list gave you a few ideas for the Harry Potter fan in your life!
